Meet Winston, the beagle cross that is obsessed with The Lion King.

Winston, six, is a huge fan of the big screen and can't help but stay transfixed when his favorite movies are on.

Owner Gabrielle Pelfrey, 28, has always had movies on for him since he was a puppy but never thought he was paying attention.

This was until she put The Lion King on.

The classic Disney film has become Winston's favourite and he can't help but react when watching it.

A video shows the pup jumping up at the screen and barking when the villain Scar appears.

It also shows the Winston's emotional reaction when Mufasa dies.

Gabrielle, who works in veterinary medicine in Dayton, Ohio, USA, said: "It's so funny because he's been watching shows since he was really little."

"At first we thought there is no way he's paying attention but then these reactions started and we were like oh my gosh he really is."

"He always reacts to those two scenes in the same way - barking and jumping up at the screen."

Winston has watched lots of movies including Ice Age, Mamma Mia and The Grinch.

But his favorites, unsurprisingly, usually tend to involve other animals.

Gabrielle said: "He loves both versions of 101 Dalmatians."

"Same with the Lion King, he can tell from the body language from the live action movies who's good and who is evil."

"That's when he started barking at Scar and I had to hold him back!"

"He also loves Moana for some reason, we think it must be the colours or the music."

"We think its hilarious, he's so smart."
