STORYLINE:

Xi'an
Shaanxi, China

Nestled in the picturesque landscapes of northwest China's Shaanxi Province, Two Tree Coffee is more than just an average cafe.

Founded by Wang Huiting, a doctoral graduate from Xi'an University of Architecture and Technology, the cafe has evolved into a bustling hub for local entrepreneurship.

SOUNDBITE 1 (Chinese): WANG HUITING, Founder of Two Tree Coffee in Liyukou Village, Xi'an
"This space is multi-functional. It's a screening room during weekdays. On holidays, it lights up as a performance stage. Yet, what really sets it apart is its role as our village parlor, drawing in the young crowd for business and sparking rural entrepreneurship.
After you scan the QR code and place an order, you will be guided to our most important space - the rural youth entrepreneurship service center in Huyi District. Here, you will find a simple contact setup. Just drop your name, contact information, and the project you're interested in. Once you hit submit, someone will be reaching out to you in no time."

The rural youth entrepreneurship service center is part of the local government's initiatives aimed at fostering development in the region.

SOUNDBITE 2 (Chinese): WANG YU, Person-in-charge, Shaanxi Quancunren Cultural Tourism Development Co., Ltd.
"Our team of about 15 people is mainly responsible for the landing services of rural industrial projects.
Our approach revolves around commercialized operations, community building, and creating a welcoming atmosphere. We want to attract young people to return to rural areas and embark on their own projects."

Since 2020, with the help of the cafe, over 10 entrepreneurs from across the country have been drawn to the village to kickstart their ventures.

This influx, in turn, has sparked increased tourist interest in the area.

In 2023 alone, Liyukou Village welcomed over 400,000 tourists, and the collective economic income of the village reached 526,000 yuan (about 72,698 USD).
