Peter Medgyessy, former Hungarian Prime Minister, has hailed the Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) as a fantastic initiative that opens up good prospects.

"(BRI is) a fantastic initiative that opens up good prospects. As the cooperation with China moves forward, it helps achieve all that we have envisioned. The BRI has a very important aspect in economic cooperation. I see a lot of opportunities." Connectivity and regional integration into the commercial networks and the system of trade relations are very valuable. An increasing number of Hungarian children are going abroad, to China.
Such exchanges provide opportunities for people of the two countries to know each other and learn about each other's culture and civilization, far exceeding traditional economic, cooperative and other types of relations."

Medgyessy points out that amid various global challenges, cooperation and fair competition are beneficial for all.
