Popular East End Genesis cinema celebrates its 25th Birthday

The Genesis Cinema located in the East end of London celebrates 25 years since its reopening. The Popular independent cinema showed three films for free to the public to celebrate its Birthday the Charlie Chaplin film "The Kid", "The Attack Of The 50 Foot Woman" and the Barbara Windsor movie "Sparrows Can't Sing". Incidentally, the last movie had its original premiere at the cinema in 1963. People attending the Birthday screening were treated to what it was like firsthand when an elderly local historian talked about seeing the original premiere and seeing the movie again when the cienma reopened.
