Food supply protesters attacked the Palace of Versailles in Paris, France.

Footage shows the two demonstrators chanting their grievances in front of an orange powder-stained floor, which they reportedly threw at the famous building's Hall of Mirrors on May 4.

One of them said while raising a fist: 'The Hall of Mirrors represents the indecency of a minority which monopolizes power and money, while the people break the slab. 350 years after its construction, the situation has not changed.'

They said they are calling for establishing Social Security for Sustainable Food, advocating for a monthly vital food card worth 150 Euros for all citizens to buy democratically approved products.

Riposte Alimentaire, the group behind the demonstration, said there is a 'widening gap between the privileged few and the majority struggling to make ends meet'.

They condemn the Agricultural Orientation Law, slated for debate in the National Assembly on May 14, for 'favouring wealthy farmers and neglecting crucial environmental measures'.

They said the proposed law 'criticised for its emphasis on free trade agreements and lack of support for agricultural income, threatens to exacerbate inequalities and perpetuate industrial agriculture at the expense of sustainable practices'.
