Climbing volcanoes in Java
This video is taken on top of Mt Merapi in the Yogyakarta Special District in Java, Indonesia. The volcano is one of the few "Decade Volcanoes" constanatly monitored because of it's propensity to erupt, and closeness to population centres. You climb overnight and summit at dawn, with a beautiful view down to the local village, rice paddies and the many surrounding mountains.... you can also see lava in the bottom of the crater, which you can climb along!
