A requiem meeting was held on Thursday in the capital's Victory Square in honor of the 79th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War.
The event was attended by veterans of the Great Patriotic War, home front workers, labor veterans, Chairman of the Jogorku Kenesh of the Kyrgyz Republic Nurlanbek Shakiev, State Secretary of the Kyrgyz Republic Suyunbek Kasmambetov, Minister of Defense of the Kyrgyz Republic Lieutenant General Baktybek Bekbolotov, First Deputy Mayor Mirlanbek Baygonchokov, as well as military personnel of the Bishkek city military garrison and townspeople.
The event participants honored the memory of the victims with a minute of silence and laid flowers at the Eternal Flame.
