An amazing and heartwarming video of a white kangaroo hugging a woman in Western Australia.

The footage, filmed at Caversham Wildlife Park on February 28, shows the smaller-than-usual marsupial hugging an American student called Nicole in a particularly human way.

Some of other students ended up having to pull the kangaroo off Nicole because it wouldn't let go, but one of them had the foresight to film the cute encounter.

The filmer later wrote online: "This was the first time we had ever seen kangaroos before, and this was an amazing experience and a great memory to share to our families and friends back home.

"I always joked about Nicole meeting a cute Australian, and it looks like she got her wish."

I am a part of a group of 22 American students from the College of St. Benedict and Saint John's University in Collegeville, Minnesota and we are here studying abroad at the University of Notre Dame for this semester. Our group went to the Caversham Wildlife Park and went into the kangaroo area where you can pet and feed roos! My friend, Nicole Pederson, sat on the ground and was approached by this white kangaroo. The kangaroo wasn't really interested in the food, but started to get close to Nicole and then it hugged her and wouldn't let go and got really friendly! We ended up having to pull the kangaroo off her, because it was getting a little too friendly. As the good friend, of course, I video taped it instead of helping her. But I'm sure glad I did!
