Gunfight in Sopore, 2 militants killed in Indian administered Kashmir

Indian Security forces on Friday killed two militants in a gunfight that began after a raid on a suspected hideout in Sopore town of north Kashmir's Baramulla district, of Jammu & Kashmir.
Security forces launched an anti-militancy operation in Bomai area of Sopore of Indian Controlled Kashmir this morning following information about presence of militants in the area, a police official said. He said militants opened fire on the advancing security forces, who retaliated. In the ensuing gunfight, two militants were killed, the official said.
As soon as the operation ended, local residents started pelting stones at the security forces, he said, adding the clashes were going on till reports last came in. Both the militants were shot dead in the gunfight that lasted for several hours.
