Heartwarming footage has emerged of the moment a surfer proposed to his girlfriend while riding the Severn Bore in the Bristol Channel.

Surf instructor Peter Abell, 32, got down on one knee and popped the question to his marine biologist partner Angie de Burgh, 30, while balancing on his board.

The spot apparently holds special significance for Peter and Angie because its where their love of surfing first brought them together in 2013.
