The White Lion Steps fiasco

Buy video

Whilst building beside these frequently used steps linking Cliff Hill with Beach Road (Gorleston), the builders failed to insert sufficient drains, so the whole wall and mud slid down onto the footpath steps. Disaster!
The GY council leapt into action, sweeping it up at great expense, but the builder went bankrupt, and the steps remained closed for 18 months, till they opened one side. 18 months later we still wait for it to be fully restored. It is now overgrown and full of litter and looks very neglected.
