Mid air collision with a Buzzard avoided.

Watch the clip of me narrowly avoiding a majestic flying friend.Sorry, I use an expletive in the video, the "F" word, so please be warned if you are in polite company and excuse me.Flying back to The New Forest from my daughters in Suffolk, the air was very bumpy in the lee of the hills near Hindhead and my seatbelts were taking the strain as I was being jostled around. Suddenly a Buzzard appeared in my field of view and I instantly thought a collision was certain. I instinctively made the right call and dropped the left wing with a sharp left aileron up control movement. Had I tried to turn away from the bird I would have caught it with the up going wing. It was a large bird and substantial damage would have resulted from a collision. Years ago I was taking off from Guernsey in a 172 and during the climb out I had a bird strike with a small bird and returned to land immediately fearing some damage. It made a hell of a bang and that was just a Sparrow sized bird (we discovered after pulling the remains out of the air vent it lodged in). I'm really glad I did not hurt this magnificent bird and equally as glad I did not damage my Foxy.
