Footage has emerged from the UK of a drunk man being removed from a plane by police just before take-off.

The video, filmed at Gatwick Airport on October 16, shows the officers escorting the man off the flight, after the aircraft was forced to turn around, causing an hour-long delay.

The filmer alleged online: "The lad in the video was sat next to me at the gate and was clearly very intoxicated.

"What I can only believe to be his girlfriend was particularly sober and made it very apparent that she did not like his state."

"I heard her say on a number of occasions 'they won't let you on' and 'I hate it when you get like this,'" he continued.

"He was throwing peanuts around the gate and making it very aware that he was rather drunk.

"He was able to board the plane but just before take off, a member of the cabin crew noticed the man and he plane turned around so that he could be let off.

"He did not comply to start with and from my window I could see the police cars approaching; they proceeded to take him off of the plane and then the video explains the rest."
