Whenever the UK experiences a bout of hot weather, we're always reminded to put on some sun cream. This video proves why.

Grant was studying at Kingston University when he and his four friends decided to visit his hometown beach in Bournemouth.

After setting up near the pier, Grant fell asleep for an hour and a half whilst laying face down in the sun.

It was only when the students begin the journey back to London that he realised the severity of his burns.

Grant said as they were driving his back was getting “hotter and hotter”.

Once at home he saw the full extent of the burns. He said he “had to constantly wear lotion for three days and couldn’t wear a t-shirt”. He would also lay on his bathroom floor so the tiles could cool his back down.

After his experience, he cannot stress enough to wear suncream. He says he now puts suncream on whenever the sun comes out.

Short two hour trip home to Bournemouth, falling asleep. Very long trip back to London and had to sleep on tiles for two days until a friend provided me with some lotion.
