Feeding Humpback whale calf
One more wonderful sighting ! On this short clip, you will see as observed before a humpback female, resting at the bottom, in shallow waters. From the beginning of their migration south to the Caribbean water, through the breeding season and until their way back north, adults humpback whales almost do not feed at all! They must rely on their body fat and think of saving as much energy as they can. On the video, you will see the only kind of whale feeding in in tropical waters : the calf.You can see here the typical position of the mother, hovering close to the bottom, and the calf, suckling milk from its mother!
