An interesting video has emerged of a baby Praying Mantis eating a fruit fly while it's still alive.

The footage, filmed in Parkersburg, PA, US, shows the Mantis consuming its prey.

''A batch of baby mantises came in with my Christmas tree so I put them in a little terrarium with a bunch of fruit flies to feed them,'' the filmer later wrote online.

This is a baby praying mantis gradually eating a fruit fly that is not that much bigger than it is. I thought I'd just stop the video once the fruit fly was dead, but... it looks like the mantis started at the back end of the fly and was taking his good old time.
