The Munster Vintage Motor Cycle & Car Club (MVMCCC) are holding this event to mark the 75th anniversary of the 1938 Cork Grand Prix. Consisting of a Motoring and Memorabilia Event it will be held on 23 June 2013 on the Carrigrohane Straight in Cork. The 1938 GP Circuit still remains pretty much unchanged in layout from when it was used for racing in 1936, 1937 & 1938.

The Commemorative Event will consist of a 3 lap Parade over the original Grand Prix Circuit, escorted by Garda outriders, under a Rolling Road Closure arrangement commencing at 10.30am. Open to pre-1950 Race and Sports Cars and we have over 40 cars entered including 6 that raced in the 1930’s events, including the infamous Cork Bugatti (a Type 59/50B) which, on a timed kilometre stretch, attained a speed of over 147 mph (236 kmh). The car has been fully restored in recent years and is now used for historic racing in the UK and Europe.
