A heartwarming video has emerged of a woman 'rescuing' her dog who got lost in her snow-covered garden.

The footage, shot in Montreal, QC, Canada on Wednesday, shows Pinga the Alaskan Malamute walking through the snow with difficulty to get back into their house.

The filmer explained that Pinga got lost while doing her 'morning pee' but that she is now "recovering at home treated with a chew stick and wrapped up in a towel".

Early morning pee 7 am March 15 the aftermath of a huge snow storm our 12.5 year old Alaskan Malamute Pinga went missing in our garden. A search and rescue mission found her at the end of a deep trail she carved out in the deep snow exhausted and struggling to find her way back to the house. She was rescued and now recovering at home treated with a chew stick and wrapped up in a towel.
