Claire has a fascination with super hero characters, especially male ones. Any time she is given the option to pick out a coloring book or toy she always heads straight for the super heroes, particularly spider man! While visiting the Roger Williams Park playground in Rhode Island she encountered her first "life size" Spider-Man on the rides you pay a few quarters to operate. Even though I did not have the change to ride the ride, she stayed and sat with him for about 30 mins. She would be very protective when her sister tried to sit with her and Spider-Man! She kept saying things like "aww, you are so cute - I love you!" I kept asking her if she wanted to go to the playground and she said no because she wanted to stay with spider man. Finally, I was ready to be firm with her that it was time to move on - I expected a tantrum/meltdown of some sort (so I thought I should capture it) but instead had my own heart melted when her reaction was the cutest and most cooperative form of devastation!
