I ENDED UP IN GERMANY!So I had a wee bit of time off work so I booked a last minute trip to Berlin in Germany. I have never been to Germany before so why not?! I was in Berlin for 24 hours and did the obvious tourist thing.East Side Gallery - Its 1316 metres in length and is a section of the Berlin wall. It is an International Memorial for freedom. Artists from all over the world were invited to paint sections of the wall back in 1990.Reichstag building - An historic edifice in Berlin. Opened in 1834, it was the home of the Imperial Diet of the German Empire.Checkpoint Charlie - This is the most well know crossing point between the East and West of Berlin. It was named Checkpoint Charlie by the western allies.Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe - This is a memorial designed by German architect Peter Eisenman. It was built in the memory of all the Jewish people that died in the German Holocaust.Brandenburg Gate - Is a neo-classical 18th century monument. It was built on the orders of Prussian king Frederick William II.
