Turtle rescue

Buy video

Leisa and I had gone to port Alma central Queensland,to do some mud crabbing and fishing. We decided not to go a cross the main shipping
channel because we had fuel problems the trip before. We where travelling up the land and ramp side to be safe and dropping our pots, when Leisa noticed something in the mangroves. Leisa said it looks like a turtle stuck in the mangrove tree and its still alive. Leisa said we have to go and rescue that turtle. I was a bit very apprehensive because i knew there where lots of crocodiles in the area. Leisa insisted to save the turtles life, WE checked the area before tackling the turtle rescue. When we got closer I could see that the turtle was caught up by his left front flipper. His back was wedged in the mangrove tree branches.I was lucky that the mangrove tree had a branch just above the water line for me to put my foot on for balance. When i first tried to ease the flipper out of the hold, i could feel that it would damage the turtles flipper. Leisa called out break the tree branch peter, it worked very well. The turtle slipped into the water unharmed and said thanks guys.We said see ya later have a good life, and ended up catching some nice big bucks.
