Mesmerising footage of a lion's mane jellyfish swimming in the Gulf of Thailand.

The video, shot by underwater photographer Lara Dakers on August 9, shows the majestic jellyfish swirling in the water.

"I was able to spend a good 20 minutes while it swirled around unfurling its far reaching tentacles," Dakers wrote online.

t appears to be the beginnings of Jelly season in Koh Tao, Thailand. There had been several jellies of varying types and sizes spotted on this particular dive site, White Rock, over the last few days. I had tried to film several of the Lion's Mane Jellies (also known as the Giant Jellyfish or Hair Jelly) but they were all very close to the surface and the motion of the ocean was making filming steady and buoyancy a difficult combination. I had been trying to film on the surface but to no avail when I looked right below me and saw this Lion's Mane right below. It looked like it was finally at the perfect depth for capturing it beautiful movement without any other factors manipulating the movement too much. I was able to spend a good 20 minutes while it swirled around unfurling its far reaching tentacles.
