Brit tourist documents Hurricane Irma hitting Turks and Caicos hotel
A British tourist has recorded a dramatic video account of Hurricane Irma hitting a hotel she was staying at in the Turks and Caicos Islands.
Teenager Madison Chase from Norwich calmly filmed the scene a few hours before the storm hit showing that hotel staff had boarded up windows in preparation for Irma.
She then filmed again from her hotel room window as the hurricane struck, showing incredibly high winds bending palm trees and rain lashing the hotel resort.
Chase headed out of her hotel room once Irma had passed over and filmed fallen trees, flattened fences and a damaged pergola.
The storm caused extensive flooding and damaged many homes on the islands southeast of the Bahamas.
