This is the moment a British dad's attempt at playing a funny prank on his son ended badly and left the poor child in floods of tears.

In the clip, which was filmed back in May in Ashton-under-Lyne, the dad tells his son that he can magically transfer a coin into a full bottle of water without touching it.

Joker dad then places a cloth over the plastic bottle and pretends to use his magic powers to force the coin inside.

Declaring the trick a success, the dad whips off the cloth and asks his son to check whether the coin is indeed inside.

As the boy peers into the bottle, dad gives it a squeeze, sending water shooting into the young lad's face.

The boy fails to see the funny side and bursts into tears.
