Kansas City Missouri Police Officer Brent Wright dances with little girl

My name is Brent Wright and I’ve been in Law Enforcement for approaching 15 years. I’ve seen the up and downs of it. I’ve seen things I wouldn’t wish upon my worst enemy and I’ve seen things I wish it would happen all over again.

When someone encounters a Law Enforcement Officer, I would say 80% of the time, it’s at a low point in someone’s life. It could be their home was broke into, they were assaaulted, maybe they are on the wrong end of being pulled over and got a ticket. I think sometimes people associate Law Enforcement with bad news, because of the point in their life they had to encounter an Officer.

While I feel as a whole we are very appreciated by the public, there are some that don’t appreciate us maybe because of the reasons I listed. Sometimes they categorize us as unhuman and or robots.

With those things being said, I hope this video shows Officers are human to and maybe one person who had a bad impression about Law Enforcment will see this video, get a laugh from my amazing dance skills and see we are human to.

This video was at a Kansas City Royals baseball game, where I was working overtime. In the video the little girl kept asking me to dance. The laugh she had was super contagious. Who wouldn’t keep dancing to keep that laugh going.

If anything comes from this video, I hope it shows Law Enforcment in a positive light. When it comes time to retire, I’m not going to be looking back at the car chases and foot chases, it’s these types of moments I will look back on and think to myself “ I had a great career”.
