West Yorkshire in the north of England is experiencing heavy snowfall and drivers are stuck on a hill road leading to Leeds Bradford Airport.

Video filmed today (March 8) shows air travellers abandoning their taxi and attempting to walk to the airport, a few miles away, on the A658 Pool Bank road.

Pool Bank in West Yorkshire was virtually impassible this morning, according to the filmer. She said it took her three and a half hours to drive 12 miles.

"Only a few cars managed to get up while traffic queued for over two hours to get down, the filmer wrote.

In the video, a car is seen spinning in the snow as the driver struggles to get up the hill.

Leeds Bradford Airport's Twitter feed said a short time ago: "The runway has been cleared and is open."
