May 30, 2018 - Severe Storm Rolling In

Severe thunderstorm warnings began early, at 3am a warning was issued and my weather radio alarm went off. The city of Moose Jaw, 45 minutes west of my location in Regina, Saskatchewan got pelted with a massive hail storm very early in the morning. Just before noon my radio began to go off again but this time kept sending out new warnings into the afternoon. Having been fully prepared all day to capture a big storm, my timing was on point as the storm front again near Moose Jaw began to jump towards the city of Regina at about 3pm. I geared up and jump on my bike towards Wascana Lake which is a giant park in the middle of the city with outstanding views for storm watching. Shooting about an hours worth of timelapse and eventually staying outside during the entire event where a wind gust was recorded at the airport of 104km/hr. Lucky I picked a spot with an outdoor shelter so I could capture the full brunt of the storm. This clip is just 1 of 12 yet to be processed. You can see how volatile this storm was with portions of the video sped up 10 times. This view is from the south side of Wascana Lake, looking north and west over the Saskatchewan Legislature.
