Thousands in London joined a mass participation artwork titled PROCESSIONS on June 10, a movement to mark 100 years since the UK Representation of the People Act gave the first British women the right to vote and stand for public office.

This video shows participants dressed in green, white or violet, the colours of the suffragette movement, marching at Trafalgar Square and passing the Monument to the Women of World War I. Women and girls also took to the streets in Belfast, Cardiff and Edinburgh in recognition of the suffrage campaign.

The video begins with an interview with a participant. "We're wearing 'empowerment'," she gestured to a sash she is wearing emblazoned with the word.

"My friends over here are wearing 'education', 'opportunity' 'freedom' and 'leadership', she said, adding that the sashes were chosen by students at a local primary school, representing what women's voting rights meant to them.
