Car breaches security fence at Lyon airport
The main airport of France's second city, Lyon, was closed this morning after a car made it onto the runway and led police on a dramatic chase.
Footage filmed this morning at Lyon St Exupery Airport by passenger David Peste shows the car speeding along the grass verge of the runway before crashing.
As police cars and helicopters swarm, the intruder exits his car and runs.
He is eventually subdued by police.
Following the incident, the airport was closed for the day.
Passenger Fabien Vandepitte was on a flight to Paris when the incident occurred.
He said: "I was in my seat in the left part of the plane when the pilot said that a car was on the tarmac and that take-off was suspended for the moment.
"I filmed what I could see from my window."
