Young female snowy owl
One of my most exciting wildlife encounters - snowy owls only rarely visit our shores here in Vancouver BC Canada. In 2012 it is said five arrived but then in the following years - none! Until the winter of 2017 this lone young female visited our shores for a brief stay! Sadly for her unethical birders chased her and she left the area! The rights of wildlife must always come first! No photo or video is worth disturbing nature for! Here you can see I am quite far away from her but still able to enjoy her beautiful presence! It was a freezing cold day but my heart was beating so fast! A really beautiful encounter and I felt very privileged to have witnessed it!
