A video has emerged of a powerful street performance protesting against ISIL in Tunis, Tunisia.

The footage, captured on Thursday, shows two actors reenacting the recent executions of hostages claimed by ISIL.

One of the actors, dressed as a headless ISIL member, can be seen holding a knife under the throat of a second actor who is dressed in an orange jumpsuit with a pile of books on his head.

The victim then stands up and removes the books from his head to ask the ISIL member if they can play a game of marbles before the execution.

In the exchange that follows, the victim uses a play on the word 'Daech' - an Arabic derogatory acronym used by non-jihadists - comparing the terrorist organisation to an evil wizard.

The ISIL member eventually ends up crying, kneeling down and begging the audience to be scared of him before the victim seizes the terrorist’s knife, breaks it and pulls a pen from inside of it.

The victim then hands the pen to the terrorist and puts the pile of books on his headless body.

The performance was organised by an association called ‘Forza Tounes’ whose leitmotiv is “terrorism does not kill, fear does”.
