This adorable toddler had the year's best Halloween costume - it looks like she's carrying her own severed head on a plate.

Maya Hwang, aged two-and-a-half, wore the epic costume which was designed by her mother, Krystel, who spent two days making it. She made a floral dress with an opening in the chest which allows Maya's head to poke through. An extension on the back of the dress creates the appearance of a ghoul whose head has been chopped off.

Older sister Charlie, aged six, then walks alongside Maya while holding a knife – and of course, an empty pumpkin basket to collect trick-or-treat gifts.

Maya wowed friends in Paranaque City, Philippines, at a costume competition. And a video of them bringing terror to their hometown of South Bay Village reached tens of millions of views.

In additional footage seen here, little Maya even explains to her mother that she wants to dress up as "headless."

Proud mum Krystel said: ''I used mostly duct tape and paper to make the costume and both my daughters were involved in the creation. I get ideas from them and they get to be creative.''

The video shows my 2-year old daughter, Maya, in her headless Halloween costume. It was filmed on October 27, 2018 at the annual Southbay Gardens village Halloween costume contest in Paranaque City, Metro Manila, Philippines. Maya and my other daughter, 6-year old Charlie (who was dressed as the butcher), ended up winning the "Wow Award" at the contest for the most amazing costumes. Other contestants were completely supportive of the win as well and cheered on both of my girls which was an awesome feeling. Neighbors were frightened by the costumes and amazed at the creativity of them at the same time. Maya was totally game all day too and really got into the spirit of it as seen by her body language and facial gestures.
