Cars drive on flooded roads as torrential rain lashes Sydney

According to local media, the NSW State Emergency Service received over 500 calls for help in the early morning. Two officers were injured while helping motorists in the city's north.

Two runways were closed off at Sydney Airport, where several flights have been affected.

This video, filmed in Moore Park that morning, shows a waterlogged road.

Weather authorities predict that the rain will continue to increase in the afternoon.
