Deep Blue coming to check us out

Buy video

A group of us went so see a whale carcass. When we first got there there were a bunch of tiger sharks feasting on the carcass and then suddenly they all swam away probably sensing what was approaching. After waiting in the water for about 30 min Deep Blue, a 22 ft female great white - thought to be the biggest shark of its kind in the world- swam right by the whale carcass to come check us out. She swam right up to me. she made a pass by the group and circled back around toward the whale for what looked like a test bite or maybe just a small nibble. She seemed curious about the divers and had little interest in the whale itself. This might be because from the looks of it she had already had quite a bit to eat. She then made her way out to the surrounding boats to check them out as well. After that she slowly descended and swam off. Deep Blue is believed to be around 50 years old, and half the length of a bus. The woman in the video riding Deep Blue is Ocean Ramsey, a local shark conservationist.
