At Mexico's southern border with Guatemala, Honduran migrants who were staying at the central park in the Guatemalan city of Tecun Uman were chased out by Guatemalan residents -allegedly under the approval of the mayor. Residents attacked the migrants with stones, cherry bombs, and makeshift rods. Honduran migrants claim guns were used as well. Hondurans can be seen retaliating by throwing rocks in return in the first seconds of the video.

This occurred after days of continued migrant arrivals into the city. This, coupled with a slow visa-issuing process on the Mexican side, has slowly increased tensions in Tecun Uman between migrants and the residents. A town hall was called shortly before this incident took place, in which residents of Tecun Uman voiced their displeasure at the continued presence of migrants in the park. They cited littering, marijuana use, and disrespect of the space as the primary reasons for their anger.

At the end of the video you can see Guatemalans charge the Mexican border, causing some Mexican migration officials to run back towards home for safety.
