Footage has emerged of singer Morrissey walking offstage during a gig in Warsaw, Poland on Wednesday after allegedly being heckled by a fan.

The footage, captured at the Klub Stodola venue, shows the former Smiths frontman reacting to shouts from the crowd before disappearing from the stage just 25 minutes into his set.

A member of the events team then comes on the stage to explain to the crowd that the show had to be stopped because “Morrisey didn’t feel safe on stage…he is very upset.”

According to event organiser Live Nation, the incident happened because one member of the audience hurled ‘extremely offensive and chauvinistic’ abuse at the artist.
