This is the heart-stopping video of a man in a 'wingsuit' who leaps off of Mount Altissimo in the southern Alps in Italy on March 25.

Footage shows a man shuffling to the edge of a terrifying precipice dressed in a black wingsuit and helmet preparing to step off into the abyss.

Before flipping his helmet visor down he says "Okay ready?" and the filmer replies "Ready".

The man then steps off the cliff and "flies" into the clouds below with his arms and legs spread wide showing the full span of the wingsuit.

The filmer, who has been soaring along with the base-jumper, then opens his parachute and exclaims, "Haha!"
