Drone footage shows Oregon farmland lost beneath floodwater as the Thomas Creek river drastically increased in volume during an unprecedented spring storm.

The filmer, who shot the video on Tuesday (April 9), said the cause of the flooding was due to "an above average snow pack this year, and this was a warm rain on snow event."

Local news is reporting the Lakeview flooding as the "worst flood in nearly 20 years."

Lakeview Oregon got an unprecedented spring storm. We have an above average snow pack this year and this was a warm rain on snow event that caused widespread flooding. Our normal precipitation total is 12-16 inches a year and this storm brought 1.19 inches of rain with over .5 inches coming in a 4 hr period. The video you see is of Thomas Creek located just outside of Lakeview Oregon way outside its banks and flooding the farmland on the outskirts of town.
