Dash-cam footage has captured a Derbyshire learner driver taking a turn into the wrong lane going directly into oncoming traffic on May 14.

Shot in Arkwright Town, near Chesterfield, the pupil can be seen taking a right turn from some traffic lights but switching from the left-hand side of the road to the right.

Oncoming traffic was somewhat sparse and could have been more dangerous but the driving instructor has drawn criticism as they should have used the dual control brakes sooner.

The filmer explained: "Instructor should have used the dual controls to safely stop the car before it entered oncoming traffic."

They also commented: "when I saw it turned out okay I had to chuckle as the instructor's face was white as a sheet."
