A massive blaze broke out at L’Oceanogràfic aquarium in Valencia, Spain, yesterday (July 9).

Footage shows plumes of thick black smoke rising up in the air as flames engulf the building.

The filmer told Newsflare: ''We were visiting the aquarium when we heard a big explosion and saw a cloud of black smoke coming from the crocodiles' pond. The staff told us to evacuate the area immediately.''

The fire prompted evacuations and there were no reports of injuries, local media reported.

L’Oceanogràfic is the largest aquarium in Europe.
