Seven of Hong Kong's senior pro-democracy leaders have been found guilty over their involvement in a peaceful protest organised in 2019.

The defendants were convicted on March 31, 2021, of organising and participating in a protest in Victoria Park, Causeway Bay. They could face up to 10 years in jail.

File footage from August 18 2019 shows protesters gathering in Victoria Park for the massive rally. On that day, a reported crowd of over 1.7 million turned Hong Kong streets into sea of umbrellas during a peaceful protest against an anti-extradition bill.
