Kayakers battle wind and large hailstones on the Thames
Local photographer Ruth Wadey took this footage from Twickenham in Greater London.
Ruth described the scene "We had been enjoying sitting in the sun on an unusually warm winter morning when the sky suddenly turned black, the wind increased and large hailstones started falling from the sky. It was 11.40 and the hail shower lasted for about 10 minutes.
It was only while I was videoing that I noticed the two kayakers battling against the strong wind, the swollen spring tide and the heavy hailstones. It must have been extremely hazardous and scary for them. A few minutes later we had a perfect blue sky!"
