London Fire Brigade and London Ambulance Service were called to a serious collision on Avenue Road, Erith yesterday (May 10).

Footage shows the scene of the accident where the emergency services were attending to the wreckage.

The vehicle was said to have lost control on Victoria Road and smashed into a tree when joining Avenue Road.

The filmer told Newsflare: "Locals were a bit surprised but not too much.

"Apparently the car had been speeding up and down most of the evening.

"The bottom of Avenue Road where it joins with Park Crescent is quite bad for people speeding and hand breaking round the crescent."

Local police said on Twitter: "Extensive road closures are in place around Avenue Road #Erith as emergency services respond after a car collided with a tree. Four people injured and taken to hospital, we await an update on their conditions."
