Lewis Miller, work as an IT engineer in London. In my 40s, live in Hampshire with my family

The incident occurred on 06 November 2019, the precise date and time are watermarked into the video.
Location was Southey Road, Wimbledon
I was driving my electric car to a training course in London

I've been using dashcams in our family car for a couple of years - I've been uploading near-misses and illegal driving to YouTube as a hobby
In my job I have to drive quite a lot - on 4 wheels and on motorcycles
The standard of driving and lack of traffic police mean that dash cams are essential to protect yourself from misleading / fraudulent insurance claims
They are also important for proving your innocence, as in this case!

I was in shock when the incident happened because of the other party's reaction - totally unexpected and really threatening!
My main priority was to calm myself down and assess my injuries
I was concerned that the other party was acting very strangely and aggressively - I thought she could be in shock
She was obviously completely unaware of what she'd done - she told the police I had driven. into her and it was all my fault

Comments online have reflect other peoples reaction really well - amazement, shock and disbelief, some sympathy.
Many of my friends commented that things could have escalated dangerously if I had got out of my car

In the video I was driving in a 20mph limit with clear right-of-way priority, when a person emerged from a side road.
The other party disregarded all of the road markings and illegally collided with mr car, sending it spinning into a side road.
My car hit a parked car and knocked down a tree.
Just after the crash, the other party stormed over to my car and circled it, screaming abuse. She also hit my car with her phone.
I have all of the surrounding video (before/after and a rear-facing camera) and loads of photos too.

The woman in the video was investigated by the police for driving and public order offences relating to threatening behaviour.
Enquiries are ongoing so there is little that I can say at this stage.

At the time my main priority was to stop things from escalating, and to make the situation safe for everyone.
Unfortunately the lady repeated her claims that it was "all my fault" to the attending police officers, as well as calling several family members to the scene
Until she was shown the dash cam video in police interview she was not aware of it

I am an advanced-rider motorcyclist, and I was only driving the car because of a work commitment.
If I had been in the same place at the same time the accident would have been very severe, with potentially life-changing injuries.
I am still suffering from the after-effects, and the collision has had an effect on my family as well as causing financial loss
