A double rainbow is seen in the sky above Padang City, West Sumatra Province, Indonesia on 3 July 2020.

This video was taken just before sunset. On the recording, two rainbow bows were seen at the same time.

One rainbow bow clearly visible refracting seven colors. While one other rainbow does not look as clear as the first rainbow.

The twin rainbows gradually disappear before sunset. This natural phenomenon is indeed rare in the city of Padang.

Yudha Nugraha as the Head of Observation and Information Session of the Minangkabau Climatology and Geophysics Meteorological Station explained that the rainbow is a normal weather phenomenon that occurs as a result of refraction of sunlight through raindrops.

"For the intended condition, commonly known as the double rainbow or double rainbow," he said.

Furthermore, Yudha said that the phenomenon of a double rainbow occurs due to the presence of sunlight refracting twice by water points

"So there are two rainbow bows, namely the brighter inner bow and the blurry outer bow," he explained.
