2nd Alarm Duplex fire Shamokin, Pa

On July 3, 2020 just before 1300hrs a working fire was struck for 914 North Shamokin Street in Shamokin. A second alarm was quickly struck as smoke was seen for blocks surrounding the blaze. During the height of the blaze crew from Northumberland, Schuylkill, Montour and Columbia counties battled the blaze or transferred closer for coverage. Chief Ken Pilkus had command and said his first task was to protect exposures to try and limit the damage. Firefighters than began to fight the blaze from both inside and outside the structure. The fire was mostly under control and knocked down by 1400hrs with units working on extinguishing hotspot. As of this posting there has been no cause of the fire stated yet
2 FF were transported for undisclosed injuries.
