A large police convoy was seen as clashes between protesters and police intensified in Belgrade, Serbia.

Footage from July 8 shows one protester being taken away by an officer, while a large convoy - including a mounted cavalry unit - advances.

The filmer explains: "This video was filmed right as I escaped the incoming cavalry force which was followed by a huge number of policemen in full body armour, they were backed up by the vehicles you can see in the video.

"The cavalry rode in [and] beat some people up but they were mostly used to scare people off, in my opinion.

"Things got ugly when the policemen came in and started being extremely brutal towards the people who were already on the ground, squealing in pain.

"The guy shown in the beginning of the video was on the ground but when the policemen noticed me filming they quickly just arrested him."
