Footage from June 5, which has recently gone viral online, shows Chelsie Wilkinson from Dayton, Ohio have a huge surprise when being alerted to something that "happened to the garage door."
The sneaky ruse from husband Alex caught Chelsie off-guard when she noticed the elusive Thai constellation monster on the driveway.
Alex told Newsflare: "She wanted this plant for a long time.
"I actually was in communication with the proprietor of the shop for over two months attempting to acquire this plant.
"Her birthday is June 6 and on June 1 I was told that they were unable to get the plant in stock.
"They then messaged a few days later on June 4 and told me they would be receiving one plant on the next day.
"I took a half-day off from work to get get it and got in line an hour before the store opened to be sure that I would get it.
"It came just in time for her birthday."
He also explained that Chelsie is a "plant fanatic" with "around 50" plants in their home.
The variegated Thai constellation monstera is a rare find and can be very expensive, retailing for over 150 dollars in some outlets making it a very sought after item for any plant enthusiast.
