Car lifted from the depths of Exeter Shipping Canal.
Car plunged in to Exeter Shipping Canal in the early hours of Thursday morning.
The report from the driver came to Exeter City Council on Thursday evening that he and his Toyota car had plunged in to the canal some 12-18 hours earlier.
Luckily nobody was hurt during the incident and the driver dragged himself to safety of a nearby pontoon.
Divers located the car on Friday morning and a crane lifted the car from 4-5 metres on Friday afternoon. Insurers are expected to cover cost for the incident.
The driver is not fully aware of what actually happened!
