The famed Hazrat Nizamuddin shrine in Delhi has reopened to worshippers on September 6, following its five month closure due to fears of coronavirus infection.

The graves of the Muslim saints interred at the shrine have been covered with plastic sheets to prevent attendees from unknowingly spreading infection.

Other measures including use of masks, one-way procession, and hand sanitiser for worshippers have been implemented.

However Qawwali gatherings, a famed event regularly held at the shrine, have been temporarily suspended to curb large gatherings of people there.
